ELF Blending Eye Brush and Eye Shadow Brush

Finally an ELF product I can actually use and rave.  These brushes are awesome.  It is inexpensive but works just as well as the high end brushes that I own.  This is bought at the local Watson's for only 129.75 Php a piece.

I have always believed that in order to apply the make up well we need to have the right tools.  Sometimes the reason why we do not get the same results as the professional make-up artists is as basic as the equipment we use.  Of course we have to factor in the talent, but seriously having the right tools will make a ton of difference.


These brushes are fantabulous.  It is made of synthetic fibers and it's ultra soft.  It picks up the product well and its heavenly to the touch.  It maintains it's shape even after washing it. It does not fan out and it does not lose it's strands.


You gotta try it to believe it.  This product comes highly recommended.


Will I repurchase?  Yes, but not anytime soon.  This product is so good that it will last a long time before I buy a new one.

ELF Brightening Eye Color

I have the 2004 Nouveau Neutrals and 2007 Drama.


This another inexpensive product from ELF which cost PHp 129.75 each.  This is bought from the local Watson's.

The color is not pigmented and there is serious fall out.  I applied this using a brush and before I knew it the glitters are all over my face.  I tried to use the sponge applicator and it's the same result.  Although with the sponge applicator the fall out is not as bad.


2007 Drama is not highly pigmented and will work as an everyday office make up.  Good for the no make-up makeup look.  I am disappointed with this one and would not recommend it just because there are other products in the market that looks better.  Maybe between 1 and 10, this is a lame 4.  You need to apply the product several times just to get a decent color, and even then I am still not completely satisfied.


I tried to picture swatches but the color doesn't show on cam.  It's probably the combination of my crappy cam and the crappy pigment of this product.


2004 Nouveau Neutrals is somewhat ok.  The black is good for the smoky eye make up, but the silver and the white is a bummer.  It is suppose to highlight but it fails to do it's job.  It just doesn't look bright enough and the fall out... the fall out... gosh the fall out is frustrating.


I am not happy at all....maybe I am just being too picky or maybe because I have tried other make ups and this one pales in comparison..... I dunno, I'm just not loving it.




Will I repurchase?  No, even if this is just 129 pesos I still feel it's a waste of my money. :(

I was skeptical to try this mainly because of two things.  First, I bought it at a tiangge.  Second, the packaging reminds me of the home manufactured soaps in the 90's.  You know the papaya craze way back then, a lot of people went gaga over it and I was one of those people.  Unfortunately a lot of those products caused me skin irritation. I ended up paying a fortune at the Derma Clinic just to clear my skin.

I  can bypass the tiannge because being the curious and adventurous me, I have found GREAT products in unusual places.  In my trips abroad, my local market visits are as awesome as my mall visits.  I go by this principle, not all expensive products are the best and not all cheap ones are a dud.


The packaging needs a little tune up.  I'm kinda like a little kid on this, you know the kid that gets equally excited by the toy box as much as the toy.  Snoe packaging is practical to say the least.  It is not cute like the popular Korean products I love to purchase, and it is not sophisticated like the high-end brands I patronize.

Having beautiful packaging adds to the joy of purchasing beauty products.  A little tweak is all we need to turn this soap into a luxury product as compared to lets's say getting ordinary "Dr. Kaufmanns" soap, because that is what it looks like right now.... regular and unappealing.  


The plastic protector of the soap with the scotch tape for adhesive did not help one bit.  It made the product look cheap.   I know that the product is inexpensive, but it does not need to look that way too.  

The color of the soap is not pretty as well.  Its a dark green that reminds me of bitter vegetables.  This is so frustrating because I want a pretty product.  I soooo soooo soooo want a pretty product. 

I am thinking it is this color because of the main ingredient of the soap.  So if the color is something that can not be avoided, I can live with it.  Of course the potency of the soap is way more important than the color.

The scent is mild and pleasant.


The first few days I used the product on my back.  I got this pimples as an allergic reaction to the massage oil from a spa and I was having a hard time getting rid of it.  The product worked so fast that in a few days the pimples are all dried up. The product is effective, believe me!  Next couple of days, I used it for my whole body and I am one happy customer.


The product claims to be rich in Vitamin A,C and E that makes the skin lighter.  It contains a high level of oleic acid that stimulates skin regeneration, reduces inflammation, and slows down the signs of aging.  It has healing benefits for pimples, cuts, scrapes and skin cracks for a healthier and fairer looking skin.


So, do not let the packaging discourage you.  If you need help in dealing with stubborn pimples this product might be your savior.  My bacne is gone, literally gone.  My back is now smooth and pimple free.  


Lately I have used it on my face and it is doing wonders.  The little pimples I had are all dried up and there are no new blackheads.  It has a tendency to dry the skin so I am only using it once a day.  Which is perfectly fine and still gives me results.  


Lather it up on your hands first instead of rubbing the soap directly on the skin.  This is because the soap has sharp granules that might cut the sensitive skin on the face.

Will I repurchase?  YESSSSSS, and I actually bought several to give my friends as a gift. Even with my dislike for the packaging, this product is a MUST HAVE.


Bottom line, if you ask me to choose between looks over effectiveness, I would choose the latter in a heartbeat.  I would rather have a product that works than a product that looks good..... but please Snoe find a way for us to have both, pretty please.

ELF Liquid Eyeliner

This is another ELF product that I bought.  I was not too happy with the ELF liquid pen liner but I was not about to give up on the whole line just yet.



I bought this at a local Watson's store for only Php129.75.  It's inexpensive and very easy to use.  The grip is just about right and provides you good control.  It provides a thin line with a subtle black color, kind of in between light black to a dark charcoal.  It is not long lasting but is great for day wear.  The one I got is the 403 black.

Fine tip applicator for precise line.

It is light compared to the Snoe Eyeboop but definitely better than the Jordana.  This product is great for people just starting out with liquid liners.  Its a no frills type of make-up which I recommend for the no make-up make up look.

ELF Liquid Liner

The longest line is the Snoe Eyeboop.  ELF has a subtle color compared to the Eyeboop.

Will I repurchase?  No, I am still happy with my Missha and my Eye Boop.

Belo Essentials Dermwhite Plus

I trust the name that is why I bought these.  


Unfortunately I am not happy with this one.  It might be effective for other people, but it doesn't work well with me.  This is an honest review based on my personal experience.


Where do we start?  


***Pore Minimizing Whitening Face Wash


Based on the packaging, this is hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested.  It contains glutathione and skin vitamins and it promotes skin renewal.


It smells like shampoo.  Sweet and fragrant, kinda like a regular bar soap.  The consistency of the product should be improved.  It is a gel type wash that is both solid and liquid.  It is hard to use because it slips off your hands or face when you apply it.  It lathers well but a little improvement on the consistency would make it easier to use.  


This claims to minimize pores,  although I didn't see any improvement in my pore size.  It claims to moisturize and whiten within 7 days, I saw an improvement on my skin tone after a week of use.


My skin feels tight after using this product.  It didn't dry or prevent pimples.


***Day Cover Whitening Vitamin Cream  Spf 15


Product label claims it nourishes the skin and shields against harmful UV rays.  Also contains glutathione and skin vitamins.


It has spf but 15 is just not enough if you ask me.


***Pore refining Natural Toner for oily skin


Product claims it thoroughly cleans and removes deep seated dirt and excess oil leaving skin visibly refreshed and radiant.  Product also contains Kojic Acid and gigawhite.




My take on this,  although I saw a lightening effect on my skin, I chose to discontinue regular use.  I felt a stinging sensation when I use the toner and I never like that effect.  Some people say that presence of pain is an indication that the product is working, I beg to differ.  


I have a different point of view, for me pain is an indication that something is wrong.  It is an alarm that tells me that I am causing irritation on my skin.


Another thing I did not appreciate is the tightening effect after I use the wash.  My skin felt tight and dry.  I know it cleansed my face but I didn't want to dry my skin in the process.  I want my skin clear, supple and radiant looking.


The day cover did not provide me enough spf.  I wasn't confident I was getting enough protection.


This product did not prevent pimples.  I am not sure if this product broke me out, but during the period I was using this I had several breakouts.


Will I repurchase?  No

My Weight Loss Journey

Shopping with my fave girl Helois.

Those who have access to my comfy world know that I HATE, literally HATE... HATE HATE HATE.... having my picture taken when Im fat  and fat I have been for more than a year now  arrrrrgggggghhhhhh.  


Taking photos document everything, every bulge, every inch, every pound.... haaaaah... I gotta face reality and there is no better time than now.  I am not doing this for health reasons, which is the most important reason for controlling weight,  this is all for the love of shopping and vanity......and besides I am sick and tired of friends asking me "Buntis ka?".  


I posted this to remind me I gotta take this under control.  I gotta lose the pounds  Plumpness doesn't make me happy.  So JANE do the right thing and start taking care of your weight now, not tomorrow, but today as in this hour.  Put down that pizza, I mean it.  Chicboy break muna tayo ha, mami-miss talaga kita. * sob *sob.  Mike Hipolito sa susunod na taon nalang yung sisig sa Bulacan,  DH14 saka nalang yung GA natin sa Dampa... (emoness attack.)

I can consume this 1.5 L in one day.  This is a little sweet so what I do is dilute with water.
 I add my C-lium and use it as part of my weight management diet.  Great for the health and the skin.

Missha Real Lasting Pen Eyeliner

If you want to get a bold look or the "DARA" effect or what others call the "KOREAN EYES", then you must have this product.  This glides on smooth, easy to apply, black as night, and anybody can use it even newbies.  It has a soft, felt tip (I hope I am not wrong, give me a buzz if I am), that defines the lash line precisely. Since it is a pen, it is easy to grab compared to other liquid liners.


It doesn't flake, fade or smudge.  It stays put the whole day and it doesn't lose intensity.  The color is bold and it gives you the pop you need to create drama.


Now a lot of the felt tip liquid liners I have used in the past dry so quickly.  It would put on color on the side of the tip, but on the tip itself I can't get any color.  Why it dries up, I dunno.  So, in the past, I would use a product like this for about several weeks and then I discard it.  I can't comment if I am going to have the same experience with this one, since I haven't had this long enough.  Regardless, I am still going to buy it.  You see, I just gotta have those korean eyes.  Just gotta.


Will I repurchase?  Yes, but I am not loyal to just one brand.  I am not particular on which one I use as long as it is not Jordana.
